christ the king 2Today’s Gospel passage is the conclusion of Jesus’ discourse with his disciples. It is about the end of time, the coming of the Son of Man, and the final judgment. Matthew was preparing his Christian community for the end of time, how to live in God’s love now so that they could meet Lord when he returns.

The end of days will not only be about how Christians dealt with the issues of helping the poor, the hungry, the sick, the homeless, the immigrant, and those prejudiced by skin color or ethnic roots. But it is also about the Gentiles, and the nonbelievers and how they treated the disciples and later the Christian missionaries. Did they see Christ in them? Did they accept them as the least among us.?

    Attention Men! The Men’s Fellowship, at Resurrection Parish, invites all men of the parish to our bi-monthly meetings on the first and third Wednesday of the month starting at 7:30pm in the Resource Room.  There will be light refreshments.

    We will meet in an informal setting discussing selections from James Campbell’s book “Every Man’s Journey.”All Men of the Parish are invited.
